I think that tomorrow, Labor Day, is the last day it's open.
We went Friday, about 1:00 PM. We don't go every year, about every two or three years, or when house guests are here at that time.
We heard that it was going to rain Sat., Sun., and probably Monday, so Friday was the logical day to go. Yeah, right. 63 gazillion other Central New Yorkers figured the same way and the daily record was 300 people short of the all time record.
All in all, it wasn't as crowded as I thought it might be. Well, that is until about 6:00 PM when more people came in time for the parade as well as the concert goers. Then the crowd started to get hectic a bit.
Friday happened to be Native American Day. We saw some great Indian dancing. There was a good turnout of natives from various tribes, some from Canada.
Of course, we all had the Gianellis saugage hero with onions and peppers, fried dough and corn on the cob. We walked enough, saw enough and ate enough to last us another two or three years. Then we'll be back for more.
The highlight of the day was my niece got to mention her name to Wayne Mahar on the 5:00 o'clock news.
