From the reaction on the streets and from the comments on the different web sites the police don't have a lot of support for the big drug bust. Its like they are looking for public support for arresting a few kids selling weed. The only gain they made was they removed some small amounts of coke and a few ecstacy pills from the streets. They also arrested a couple of Syracuses blacks and hispanics that Onodaga County shipped down here to help our welfare statistics. Now we're stuck with them for a bit longer while they serve out their probation. Great job for the police dept. Chief Dehm and Dodd are trying to find ways to get these people out of the city and they just made it harder for them to go away. Oh and five pounds of weed, big deal. I can buy that much in one week just hanging aroung in the local bars. Someone wake the police and DA's office up. Next time the police want to arrest some unempolyed and welfare people for selling weed buy them a bus ticket back to Syracuse and save the waste of time and money.

Hopefully the child is still away from the lowlife thing that gave birth to him/her. A mother is suppose to protect a child not use it to stop a lowlife from getting arrested.

Of all the ones arrested she is by far the most disgusting. If she never saw that child again it would be too soon.

So the cops said there would be more arrests. Sure. They got no intention. Just announce it and maybe the rest will go in hiding and activity will slow down. Who are they trying to fool. In the meantime, I need to run to the hydroponic shop. Sodium lamps? Who needs them.

First of all you should not say anything about anyone without knowing them! sarah is a great mother and would never harm her child. I have known her for over 7 years. and she wasn't doing anything wrong. She had a regular job and tried to support her child. So next time you try putting someone down think about your family you never really know what they are doing, not everyone has a great job and can support their kids, minimum wage isn't enough to support your family. we need more jobs in this city!

A great mother wouldn't put her child in harm's way!!!!!
She might be working.......well that's good that she has a job, so why were the drugs in her home? Was she trying to make extra income for her and her daughter peddling drugs? Unfortunately she will probably lose her child to Social Services-foster care now and maybe her home also. Were is the child's father? Young people nowadays don't think straight.
I hope this young woman is on birth control.

IF she were a great mother then she would have had the baby living in a safe home. IF she were a great mother then she wouldn't have used the baby to try to stop police from searching her home that had drugs in it.
IF she was having a hard time, there are MANY options other than living with (or being) a drug dealer.
Hard luck this all you want. Any parent that would/does subject their child to an enviroment that involves drugs is a LOWLIFE.
Oh, and the father was busy trying to flush the drugs down the toilet according to the report.

If she thinks she had it hard tring to make a living before she is going to find it a lot harder now. Maybe she should of waited until she could afford to raise a child before she had one. Stupid little girls with no education and boys who don't know what being a man means do not make good parents, she just helped prove it. Who is going to take care of the child now? A mother and father dumb enough to get caught dealing drugs in little ole Oswego? Two more brainless idiots who should grow up before they attempt to raise a child. She wanted to play like an adult now she can pay like one. They tried to take the easy way by dealing, now I hope she wakes up and gets an education and does whats right for the child. First thing would be getting away from the lazy azz dad who thinks dealing is a career and BUILD herself and her child a life. Nothing comes easy. Or continue to deal drugs and wait for someone to hand her everthing. I'd take the education route.

Sadly the child will probably be placed back with her parents.(if she hasn't been already)
Just because these "kids" cannot afford name brand clothing and high end electronics on minimum wage, they think selling drugs is the way to go so they can afford their life style.
There are programs available and yes, even HH would have been a better choice over having the child in a drug home.
When "Mom" sits down to talk to daughter about "the younger years", will she tell her about this? "Oh, and there was this time when the cops showed up to raid the house for drugs. You were a little over 6 months old. I held you in the way so your father could flush the drugs down the toilet.Oh, those WERE the days."

irk ignorant apparently deserves
These are the correct spellings. Now, used properly, these words would look like this: "If I am beginning to irk you, so be it. I cannot stand ignorant people who apparently feel that their small child deserves to be raised in a home where there are drugs."
If only the drug dealers/users would leave Oswego, it would be a better place.
Just because I don't have the "excitement" of police searching my home doesn't mean my life is boring.
As far as shutting my mouth goes, until all the lowlifes are in jail or dead, I will continue to speak out. Please feel free to hold your breath until that happens.

You see, the thing is this: Face to face or online, I say what I feel. People who don't like it either say so or ignore me. Have I ever been confronted because of it? You bet. But, I can hold my own.
And as far as your private message goes svs, yes, my kids have gotten into trouble. And they have been taught to accept the responsibility of their actions. As far as my husband cheating, he never has. He has no reason to. ;D
And to quote you: "she is a spoiled baby and wasn't around anything that went on in that house" Really? Cause this is what I read: Also charged is 20 year old Sarah J. Bartholomew of 26 Varick Street in Oswego. She was arrested and charged with: Endangering the Welfare of a Child after police say she held an infant in the way of officers while they were executing an arrest warrant at her home.

They were in the middle of a drug bust. The police aimed a gun to her head. How were they to know she wasn't a wacko with a kid in one hand and a hand gun in the other? Come on. Give these guys a break. At least they weren't pointing the gun at the baby. They were mostlikely following protocol.

What it comes down to is the fact that there shouldn't have been drugs in the home to begin with. THAT put the child in danger from the start. Had there not been drugs then there would not have been a drug bust. Some people find that hard to understand for some reason.

svs: RE: your private message; I am not the one who asked who you were covering for.
And it said they were executing an arrest warrant, not a search warrant.
The FACT is: there should not have been drugs in the home to begin with. No drugs, no reason for the cops to be there. Don't blame the police for the parents lack of common sense.
That's all I have to say...no need to send me more messages. I am going to be too busy in my drug free home, entertaining my drug free family and drug free friends to bother with you.
Happy Holidays. Hopefully for Christmas you will GET A CLUE.
