Fire Forces Family Out Of Their Apartment Last Update: 9/30/2006 3:29:28 PM This story is available on your cell phone at mobile.9wsyr.com
Investigators say a child playing with a lighter started a fire in an apartment at the Hamilton Homes Aparments in Oswego. Everyone got out safely, but the family living there will not be able to go back.
Deputy Chief Mark McManus says the fire started in Apartment 72 in the upstairs bedroom, just before 7:30 on Saturday morning. Donna Wright and her four children were home at the time, but they were all able to get out.
There was heavy damage to the front bedroom and extensive smoke and water damage throughout the apartment.
The complex manager is letting the family stay temporarily in an unoccupied apartment. The Red Cross is helping them.
Another well watched child.
And WHO is gonna pay for the repairs?
