At least it wasn't little kids or teens like the GOP goes after locally and elsewhere.....all those in the closet....... Well that didn't take very long. Democrat gets nailed in federal investigation and already it's compared to the GOP as "not being as bad". Whatever. The fact of the matter is that Spitzer should resign. It doesn't matter if he was buying cocaine. He made New Yorkers look bad. I'm kinda glad he did it. All the sooner he should resign and get out. His budget would have strangled us.

In all honesty I was glad to see that Spitzer wanted to change Albany. I know he's a democrat, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Of course he totally messed up the State Police scandal (I refuse to use the term "troopergate") going after GOP Sen Bruno. Then there was his drivers liscense for illegals train wreck, but most recently up until today, his buget proposal. It was out of this world. I'm sure Patterson will use what Spitzer proposed, we can only hope the legislature will trim it down to more acceptable standards. But I hate to say what went down today couldn't have happened to a better guy.
Andrew Cuomo is probably grinning from ear to ear.

So far it looks like he's not going to resign. I think he has a little egg on his face, you see it?

He won't have a choice once he is charged by the Feds for structuring, which has a penalty of five years and a fine. If the governor is convicted of a felony, he would be required to resign. Some lawmakers and legal experts said on Monday that they believed Mr. Spitzer might retain his office to use as leverage for potential negotiations with prosecutors. Either way his days in politics are over. Maybe Aubertine will give him a job on the farm. ;D

Did you see the look on his wife's face when he gave his statement? Not for nothing, but Silda's not bad for an older chick (I'm not saying she's old). But $5500 an hour for a professional slut is just plain crazy. I really feel bad for the family of Elliot.

wonder how long before she kicks his ass to the curb. The facts are getting better everyday as now New York Assembly Republican Minority Leader James Tedisco said: "If he does not resign within the next 24 to 48 hours, we will prepare articles of impeachment to remove him. He is going to end up in prison.....hopefully!!!!!!

SO-LONG ELIOT I wish I could say its been a pleasure, but it hasn't! Bruno must be grinning from ear to ear. ;D It is funny that a guy who is so very well informed about law and who prosecuted many people for the same crime was arrogant or stupid enough to get caught. I guess he should of sent his little head to law school.

"The minority leader in New York's state Assembly, James Tedisco, said that he will introduce articles of impeachment within two days if Spitzer does not resign first." What? You mean Tedisco didn't announce that Spitzer's impeachment was "off the table?"
That's because the GOP plays hardball while Pelosi and Reid play a decent game of patty cake.
Bush kills 4,000 soldiers and steals hundred of billions of dollars in oil and gets a pass. Spitzer gets a girlfriend and THAT'S an impeachable offense.
Why is sex always worse than 4,000 dead soldiers?

Quoting that: Sorry but you're comparing State gov't to nat'l gov't. Too bad but your post dosen't hold a drop of water. Your analogy dosen't make a bit of sense. Try again.

WHAT THE, you sound like a brainless peace dreaming jackass. What Bush did was stop an insane leader from gassing and killing more people. What Saddam was doing in Iraq was no different than what Hitler did in Germany. Bush did what no other country had the balls to do. You sound like one of the idiots who complains about the killing of a few seals and animal rights, yet are willing to sit back watch as people are killed and tortured.

WHAT THE, You are an idiot! Brainwashed about what? Maybe you should pull your head out of your ass and look at the whole story behind the war in Iraq. Its fools like you who stand up and rant about bringing the troops home and how wrong we are for being in Iraq that are brainwashed. You're the reject who would hold flowers out to a terrorist or ignore the facts that thousands of people were being killed by Saddam because you don't want our soldiers to get hurt. You'd be the first whiny bitch to crawl under a rock and hide if you ever had to defend the rights you think are free. Of course you'd be the one who wouldn't stand up for someone else either if you had to do more than bitch. Keep dreaming of world peace and utopia dumbass while the real men and woman fight and sometimes die defending your right to do so. Personally I think your a chicken shit coward with the intelligence of turnip.

Hey farmboy, just get yourself a gun, run over to Iraq and take care of this for us. We'll all be better off especially when you don't return after your fellow troops shoot you for being braindead. I never said getting rid of Hussein was wrong. Bush forced his way in. The way we went in was wrong. You are dizzy from all the spinning you are doing. Keep singing AWOL'ing GWB's praises. The WORLD can hardly wait for him to get out of office. Americans will be paying the debt he made for many years to come. Hint: Read between the lines DF, that means our kids. Meanwhile, him and Cheney are gonna sit wealthy men and laughing at the dumb Americans who didn't stop them.
Let's recap some lies from the (choke) leader of the once most influential and powerful country in the world and his partners in crime.
LIE #1: "The evidence indicates that Iraq is reconstituting its nuclear weapons program ... Iraq has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes and other equipment needed for gas centrifuges, which are used to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons." -- President Bush, Oct. 7, 2002, in Cincinnati.
LIE #2: "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." -- President Bush, Jan.28, 2003, in the State of the Union address.
LIE #3: "We believe [Saddam] has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons." -- Vice President Cheney on March 16, 2003 on "Meet the Press."
LIE #4: "[The CIA possesses] solid reporting of senior-level contacts between Iraq and al-Qaeda going back a decade." -- CIA Director George Tenet in a written statement released Oct. 7, 2002 and echoed in that evening's speech by President Bush.
LIE #5: "We've learned that Iraq has trained al-Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases ... Alliance with terrorists could allow the Iraqi regime to attack America without leaving any fingerprints." -- President Bush, Oct. 7.
LIE #6: "We have also discovered through intelligence that Iraq has a growing fleet of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles that could be used to disperse chemical or biological weapons across broad areas. We are concerned that Iraq is exploring ways of using these UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles] for missions targeting the United States." -- President Bush, Oct. 7.
LIE #7: "We have seen intelligence over many months that they have chemical and biological weapons, and that they have dispersed them and that they're weaponized and that, in one case at least, the command and control arrangements have been established." -- President Bush, Feb. 8, 2003, in a national radio address.
LIE #8: "Our conservative estimate is that Iraq today has a stockpile of between 100 and 500 tons of chemical weapons agent. That is enough to fill 16,000 battlefield rockets." -- Secretary of State Colin Powell, Feb. 5 2003, in remarks to the UN Security Council.
LIE #9: "We know where [Iraq's WMD] are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south, and north somewhat." -- Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, March 30, 2003, in statements to the press.
LIE #10: "Yes, we found a biological laboratory in Iraq which the UN prohibited." -- President Bush in remarks in Poland, published internationally June 1, 2003.

Ok DFing idiot, you're going to tell me that Saddam didn't have chemical weapons, nor did he kill thousands of Kurds, mostly women and children? You're probably fine with the FACT that he gassed thousands of innocent people. Bush used information that was supplied to him by several agencies and different countries, he didn't just sit back and make up shit like you and the rest of the pansy ass cowards. He did what he thought was best for this country, which is what he was elected to do. Who gives a rats ass if some of the information was incorrect? Go stand on a street corner and wave your peace sign around like a f-ing idiot. Hopefully someone shoves it down your ignorant throat.

4000 dead - 30000 wounded - 13000 maimed - five years - 680 billion direct costs - 1 trillion legacy costs - no end in sight - no plan to end the war
how is this good for americans,,,,,what did we gain? it isn't about stopping terrorism. we are always going to have that. look at the shootings on college campuses. i'd call that terrorism. its a new day. freedom comes will a price. freedom to get shot by any looney out there when you minding your own business.

The men and woman fighting must think its worth it as 70% percent of soldiers eligible to re-enlist in 2006 did so — a re-enlistment rate higher than before Sept. 11, 2001. For the past 10 years, the enlisted retention rates of the Army have exceeded 100 percent. As of last Nov. 13, Army re-enlistment was 137 percent of its stated goal. The people like Obama and WHAT THE who keep crying about bringing our troops home might want to consider how the troops feel. Bringing the troops home before they have finished the job they set out to do is an insult to them and demoralizing. The tree hugging, peace dreamers who claim to care so much about the people of the world and want to everyone to hold hands would pull out and let the Iraqi people be overrun by extremists.
johnqpublic, you asked how is this good for americans,,,,,what did we gain? Stopping the Genocide of the Kurdish people by Saddam was worth it. Starting a process that will let the people of Iraq govern themselves is worth it. How come its the folks who are so concerned about human rights that ask "what did we gain"? Is it always about "we"?
