He got 7 years because of a knee jerk reaction. Troopers wanted blood, they got it.
What a joke and lack of justice. They MADE a law to punish him.

The Todeschini law was not used because it was not a law at the time of the accident. He was convicted of aggravated criminally negligent homicide and reckless driving. Carncross made some dumb mistakes and the courts and media hammered him to make a statement to the public. Onondaga County Judge William Walsh said Todeschini was equally blame worthy for his own death because of his conduct during the chase. The whole thing was a mess. Both parties made stupid mistakes and both involved have and will pay for their actions.
I just hope the kids on crotch rockets learn something from this.
I still have a problem with motorcycle companies making bikes that can go over 150 mph. What does someone need with a bike that goes that fast for? I have a cruiser that will do about 130 and I think thats too fast. The rockets are made for racing and should be restricted to the race tracks. jmo

Well, if Carncross wasn't doing 100+mph, there would never be a chase, and a Trooper never would have died.
