There is an concept present that Upstate New York is largely ignored due to the political funding origins. It is known that the majority of campaign funding comes from the downstate areas, larger companies in particular, thus focus is taken away from the upstate areas where lesser contributions are provided.
For this reason, we may be hearing more about campaign funding reform in New York. It is in our best interest to support this idea. Lets hope it doesn't fall flat.

Honset to God, I hope that Spitzer loses to Tom Suozzi. I've been following these politicians on news 10 no's "Capital tonight" and it looks like Spitzer is not going to debate any of his democractic rivals because he thinks he has the primary wrapped up. I'm hoping for Suozzi. Being a republican I have no idea of who John Faso is and am convinced this state is getting a downstate democrat as ususal.

It doesn't look good for Suozzi. I don't know what big platforms each has, but both are downstaters. This spells doom for us upstate, IMO. I don't vote party although I always give the independants a hard look. I vote based on issues.
But getting back to the point, until reform happens, downstate always wins. I take the Hillary complaints that deal with her lack of addressing upstate with a grain of salt because of the downstate grip on politicians in New York.
Sometimes I wish the NYC area was it's own state. If I understand things correctly most of our state taxes are pushed that way.

Typical politician stuff. My take, they make too many promises to keep or when they get in office, it isn't as easy as they expected to get those things done. I sit on the fence over Hillary. People love her or hate her, but I'm not either one. Call me an outlier. As far as upstate promises go, don't hold your breath. I will be amazed if any politician does something positive for anyone north of Albany. When I hear them making promises and upstate is in the sentence, I know they are blowing smoke.
