The third performance of the 2006 Summer Concert Series will feature the big-band sound of the Oswego County Summer Stage Band, under the direction of Stan Gosek at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (07/12) in Breitbeck Park. Featured soloists in Wednesday's performance will be Russ Patrick, of Mexico; Joe Cortini Jr., of Fulton; and Redd Swindells, Ryan Tonkin and David Welsch, all of Oswego. The repertoire for this event will include classics such as County Basie's “Two O'Clock Jump” and “Jumpin' at the Woodside,” “A Tribute to Duke Ellington,” Glenn Miller's “In the Wood,” Woody Herman's “Woodchoppers Ball,” Maynard Ferguson's “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and many more. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of inclement weather, the performance will be held in the pavilion. This free concert is co-sponsored by the city of Oswego through the Music Performance Trust Funds.
