Here's an event that ought to be a lot of fun: Friends of Camp Hollis will host a 60th anniversary celebration at 2 p.m. July 22 at the camp, Lakeshore Road, town of Oswego. The Oswego County children’s camp, located in the town of Oswego on the shore of Lake Ontario, hosts 100 boys and girls for an overnight camp every week during the summer. Camp Hollis is operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and supported by the Oswego County Legislature, Friends of Camp Hollis, and volunteers, businesses and community groups. There will be a cookout at 5 p.m. and campfire that evening. The event will be held rain or shine. Bring bathing suits and sneakers, organizers suggest. The event is free for Friends of Camp Hollis members. The cost for dinner is $5 for nonmembers and $15 per family. Guests are asked to bring a snack or dish to pass. For reservations, call 349-3451 or 349-3241. from www.syracuse.com
