from the Pall-Times per Fire Department overtime pay: "Atkins said that he had been given copies of ledger sheets showing that numerous individuals had been charged $930, and that the charges seemed to be inconsistent. The request failed for lack of a second motion. Atkins said that he would provide Geers with copies of the ledger sheets. Geers welcomed the opportunity to sit down with Council members to resolve the disparities, but Harrington suggested that perhaps an independent accounting firm should be used to perform an audit."
An independent firm that doesn't have ties to the Fire Department or City would be a good start.
Good suggestion, Ed. Maybe we could push this audit into investigation of other city ledgers.

It was good idea. The city has been asking HH for a budget for a while now...nothing! Somebody is hiding something!
