I am not very happy that Mary Vanouse was given that position. I was told we almost lost valuable monies for development because of her and that is why that department was moved to the college. She has had many years to show herself. I see nothing. As far as the Complex to houe students, it was the neighborhood group who got together and went against it. How stupid to even suggest it was her doing. Anybody could see it wasn't the best location for the housing. If Thomas still owned th motel he wouldn't have pushed for the housing.

Well then, if that's the case, then I am incorrect. Since I don't work with the downtown crew, I am not up to date on who is a worthless POS, although rumors are abound.
And they need to put that complex there.

I'll venture a guess that you live nowhere near where "They" want to build the "Dorm away from the dorm". It would be nice to give some credence and a sympathetic thought or two to the feelings of those who will have to endure the results of life in the jungle that is college life. Whoopee!!!. Oh, that's right, the college kids of today are so gentle and sweet. Excuse me, I almost painted them in a different light. Please don't use the power of the pen to help THEM ram this unwanted monstrosity down our throats. It's bad enough mosttimes when they pass our places coming home after a night on the town.

One of the easiest things to do in life is point a finger and complain. Even if you did know all of the details, "It's not nice to point".
I've had dealings directly and indirectly with a certain city agency that Mary is involved with. Mary played a lesser role under the direction of an appointed pompous you-know-what who got all the publicity and Mary did all the leg work to make him look good.
It is my opinion, as well as that of many unnamed others, that Mary's knowledge and workings of the position could run circles around the former blowhard. Most of the time Mary's lips were sealed by the ugly spectre of politics and she had to "do or die".
There's more to the story but thankfully most of it is in the past, it's history, just a bad dream. Let's stick with Mary and see what she can really do on her own.
And for all the discontents, Mary has no idea who I am and had nothing to do with my writing this. It's tough getting up to bat with two strikes against you. I say,"Give her a fair chance".

I want someone to explain to me how this complex will effect the neighborhood in question? It is not like it is smack dab in the middle of Draper or Baylis Street. It would be on Washingtom Blvd behind the Pizza Hut, right? Across from the Steam Station? If so, are students going to go out of their way to trample the property south of Washington Blvd? The kids already are walking up that way from The Woodshed and such to get back to their dorms. What am I missing here? I think the landlords in Oswego are the ones who don't want to see this happen mostly.
