Posted on the LION "Most of us have no desire to live in the plastic world like that of Kingsford's Woods, etc., Frank (Cavelli). We are hometown folks, who want to be where the real heartbeat of Oswego is. It's in some of our newer, circa 50's and up [ex.Burden Dr. area,Ontario Heights, etc ]and older Historical Neighborhoods Frank, that's were we want to be. Our old neighborhoods have a lot of character."
I agree. Something about the character of older homes is appealing. Ed needs to keep this in mind when not allowing the new college residential area in his ward. Those kids will end up in our historical neighborhoods, trashing them, and lowering their property value further and in the long run pushing out families that watch their investments become fruitless. If he wants to preserve Oswego, he needs to preserve its heart and he has input on where its headed. There are already too many rentals ruining the face of the cute Oswego neighborhoods in the northern west side areas. Many of these areas have already fallen to become rows of ugly dwellings.
Yes, I am biased because I live in the area I speak of and I walk the streets through these areas especially during the summer months on my way to Breitback. I go to Breitbeck to enjoy the beauty of the lake, but the trip to the lake is anything but a pleasant view anymore.
I know I'm not the only one who goes to Breitbeck and I wonder if similar thoughts run through the minds of other locals on their way.

I'm sorry. I don't know if you are for or against the privately owned dorm style housing. I think that maybe you are against the "BARRACKS". Please respond.
I, too, like to walk to Breitback, not just in the summer. At least in the summer the college crowd is gone. But, alas, we have to put up with Harbormess
I'd love to see life simplified again. The good old days were pretty nice, come to think of it.
