O.k. it's about the sewer fees. It has been brought to my attention that landlords only pay a sewer fee per house/property. Now, shouldn't they be billed per unit? Why should the average home owner with approx. 1 1/2 baths, etc. pay the same amount as a rental unit with up to 4 seperate baths, kitchens, etc.? Wouldn't this make sense? Maybe they already do but from what I have been told they pay per house and perhaps the landlord splits the one fee between his units.
I have one more gripe, please bare with me. With the city in a fiancial mess, why hasn't anyone on the council questioned the mayor's salary? Why is he making $40 grand plus getting a kick back from not taking the insurance for only working a few hours a week? If they want to start cutting back and raising fees elsewhere, maybe they should look right at city hall? You wonder why this city is going to hell in a hand basket.
All input is appreciated and by the look of this board, it could use a good discussion!!!
thanks all.

Here is something to add to the discussion. Oswego's residents think they won a battle with the council by keeping Gallagher Pool open, WRONG! Mayor Bonehead just hosed everyone with a sewer "fee" increase of 300%. People are more worried about a pool that is open two lousy months a year and accommodates about 5 percent of the residents, if that. The common council "gave in" because as one councilman ( who could stop stutering long enough to complete a sentence) stated 'the people spoke and we listened'.....lol, and the people sucked that right up. How about the people who spoke out about the city raising the sewer fees? The fees would of never had to be adjusted if the council wasn't run by the landlords who turned away the town of Oswego 's request to use the sewage treatment plant. Why won't Mayor Bonehead lay off city employees, most of which are useless lazy do nothings? Could it be because he doesn't have the balls to do his job? City all across the country are cutting their workforces and our dumbass mayor raises "fees" on the residents who already pay too many fees and taxes.
DOOPED AGAIN!

I don't live in the city so are there water meters? I am asking only because if someone has 4 units in one building with 4 bathrooms and kitchens then their water bill would be much higher than those who have 1 1/2 baths and a single kitchen. Also those with a washer and/or dishwasher would pay more than those without one/both. I know that in Fulton water/sewer/trash are billed together.
