Saw over on the Lion, (OK, so I stopped in ), that a person was reminiscing about the band 805 that played in the area late 70s through mid 80s. They were a great band. I have their two releases on cassette! Nope not CD. I need to dig them up and give them a listen. I saw them for the first time at the Matador of all places.

LOL...I soooooo remember 805! They were awesome! My friends and I used to go to The Matador all the time when they played.
Cassettes? LOL...I have like 250 cassettes and when I play them my kids freak out. My son had me laughing so hard one day when i pulled out an album and he asked me how I planned on getting that in the CD player with it being that big.

I was talking to my friend about 805 and she reminded me of the band KGB too. They played at the Matador also.

A local drummer, we all should know (The V), who is a great drummer by the way, studied with the very accomplished Frank Briggs, drummer of 805, years back. I remember well this drummer showing me some of the difficult drum patterns he learned from Briggs years back including tricky Steely Dan beats. Frank Briggs went on to have great success last I heard.
Anywho, I remember 805 playing King Crimson, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, and other music that was difficult to pull off. I wish this type of music was still played around here. There was some band that played Rush tunes to. Can't remember the name of them though.

Al's Warehouse was a great venue for them. Lots of room and the slide and light shows were awesome. Yes Frank Briggs is still doing great and even does some stuff for Mel Bay music instrucitonal manuals.

There used to be a heck of a lot of bands around Oswego. Where did they all go? I remember Als Warehouse. What a great club to see a band. There aint nothing like that here no more. 805 was a great band. They still around? The bass player had this one weird looking thing he'd play. I only seen it once.
