I wonder which over achiever from the traffic dept or city decided that west 8th and bridge needed a traffic light? The morons in charge of putting up stop signs, traffic lights, and every other stupid sign in this city must not have anything to do. I think the fat boys at the traffic dept drive around all day looking for places that they can stick new signs and lights in order to screw up the traffic flow. They won't be happy until every intersection has a 4way stop or a traffic light. I understand they have to do some work to justify their jobs, sitting on their asses all day eating donuts can become boring after a couple years. The idiot who stops on east 4th street every am doesn't even try and hide anymore, probably because he's had a few donuts to many and couldn't hide his fatness if he was behind a barn. They work so hard during the week that they have to put in overtime on weekends? I don't understand why the traffic crew has to work overtime every week. Lets just screw the tax payer some more. The traffic dept rips off the tax payers more than the fire dept., and thats a lot.

Sorry I don't drive Bridge St if I can avoid it. I try to avoid driving anywhere in this city if I can. I spend more time stopping and going and stopping again that it costs me more in gas to get from the west of the city to the east side than it does if I drive around it. Actually I try to avoid the city as much as possible, its so screwed up it makes me wonder if its some kind of government experiment gone wrong.

The new light on west 8th and Utica is the one thats going to get someone killed. Whatever numbnut at the traffic dept decided to put it there should be fired. And whats with all these pedestrian crossings, the one on west 1st near Jocko's is completely insane. I've yet to see anyone cross there. The amount this city must pay for signs has to be astronomical. While I'm at it, whats with all the overtime the traffic dept is paying out? Is there so much to be done in the city that they can't complete their job during the day in between breaks and naps. Everyone was quick to question the fire dept and police on overtime while the traffic dept runs rampant.

The Oswego City Police Department has been awarded a grant of $5,200 from the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. The department has found that stop sign violations have led to numerous accidents and injuries in the Oswego community, thus the grant funds will specifically target “stop sign violators.” In announcing the traffic enforcement initiative to crack down on stop signs, Oswego police have noted that they will focus on “citizen-driven” areas of concern. “We really want to encourage the citizens to help us in this effort,” DeCaire said. “If they live by these areas and know them to be a problem area, we can rely on them to be the eyes for the department in deciding which areas to focus on.” Residents who know of any intersections in which stop sign violations occur frequently are asked to contact the department at 342-8120 with the location and any specifics on times or days in which these violations are happening on a regular basis.
I have a way to decrease the number of accidents at intersections with stop signs. Stop putting stop signs at every God Damn intersection in the city!!!!!!!!!! It must be that the traffic dept has nothing to do so they drive around looking for places to stick stop signs. You used to be able to drive more than a block without stopping at a stupid, and useless 4-way stop. Now the traffic dept seems to be putting 4-way stops at every intersection in the city. Also, why does the traffic dept pay out so much in overtime when the so-called workers are spending most of the day hanging out at various businesses and doing nothing. Some of the guys on the traffic dept are making more than the firemen and police, why is that?
