It has been about 60 days. Will we ever know if there was a cover-up?

The Oswego County Sheriff's Department is investigating what they are calling a suspicious death. Sheila Shortslef, 40, was found unconscious in her apartment on Middle Road in Scriba. She was taken to Oswego Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Sheriff Reuel Todd said when they find an unattended body, they normally treat it as suspicious until an official cause of death is determined, but Shortslef's age and a history of domestic disputes at her home are leading them to investigate this death a little more closely. Autopsy results are expected Wednesday.
Sheriff Todd said either a neighbor or a relative came to check on her and found her. Shortslef's 4-year-old son was in the apartment at the time, but police don't know how long the mother was unconscious.
Her landlord said she's lived there for about 4 months and describes her as a quiet woman and a good mother.
"She was a very nice lady. She took very good care of her child. It's just very unfortunate. We don't know what happened, and hopefully it was an accident, whatever happened. That's all I can say is she's going to be very well missed in this neighborhood,” said John Quinlan.
Both the sheriff and neighbors said there was a domestic dispute between Shortslef and her boyfriend very early Monday morning. The boyfriend was arrested. Sheriff Todd didn't have specifics on the charges but said the man was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. Sheriff Todd wouldn’t say at this time if the two incidents are in any way related.

It could now be as long as two months before investigators determine the cause of death for the 40-year-old mother found unconscious in her home.
Sheila Shortslef, 40, was found in her apartment on Middle Road in Scriba. Investigators are calling her death suspicious. Her four year-old-child was home at the time.
Oswego County District Attorney Donald Dodd, who is also the coroner says autopsy results will not be released right away. He says they are sending out blood work to be tested. It will take 60 days for results.
Dodd would not comment on the external condition of the body. Sheriff Reule Todd had said they were investigating this death closely because of the woman's young age, and a history of domestic disputes at her home.
Shortslef's boyfriend was arrested on Monday following a domestic dispute. He was released and the Sheriff would not say if the two incidents are in any way related.
Here are the rumors I have found or been told:
- Thomas Perrin, the boyfriend, has a brother who is a State Trooper.
- The family was not allowed to view the deceased at the hospital.
- This report was listed on the Sheriff's web page and then removed.
- There is a history of abuse by Perrin.
- He killed her because she had him arrested for abuse.
