Today marks 5 years since tragedy struck many family and friends of those who died in the 9/11 attacks.
It affected many people, even those of us who did not know any of the victims or their family and friends.
I still look back on that day and wonder what could have been done to prevent this.
Are we really safer today?

It is still very sad. Spouses, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and children lost to an act of violence brought about by intolerance.
Are we safer today? Maybe a little, but I attribute a good portion of that to citizen and Ally vigilance. And I think we need to continue be alert. Our perceptions have changed nationally. No longer can we take for granted that we are safe from terrorists on our continental home. For anyone who previously thought we were not a target, 9/11 provided a wake up call.
Could we have prevented this? Its tough to say. But in order for us to live in a truly safe and secure country, we forfeit our freedom.

My daughter had one of her very best friemds in one of those TWIN TOWER buildings, they got out, but it wasn't easy and ran miles across the bridge to safety, will they were being hit with debris from behind them. They went thrugh some very hard weeks and got help. Today they are better, but the memories will always be there. God Bless Them.
