Talk about spin! In my book, his property, his responsibility. I think he wants to pass the buck. Like Cosemento said, if he has problems with a tennant, pick up the phone and call the police.
But also, don't these renters sign leases? Doesn't the lease say what the tennant is responsible to the landlord for? The landlord holds the right to evict a non-compliant tennant I would think. This does not remove responsibilty of the landlord on the property he owns. The tennant doesn't own it so the city shouldn't hold him responsible.

Truth... I totally agree!!! The tennant is responsible to the landlord( or should be). I like what 1 of the men said (something like) "I will only have a 1 paragraph lease that states if the cops or code enforcement are called on you..you will be evicted". Its time that landlords be responsible to rent to desent people! And time for them to keep up their properties!
I know when I used to rent I kept that home up. We mowed the lawn took care of snow removal and we even took our own garbage to the dump. I believe that the home is a reflection of me. I now own a home and hope my property value doesnt decrease.

First let me remind all who see this "the gloves have come off"your own words will be your falldown catalyst! Land lords who do not properly repair the properties are responsible for certain repairs and if they do not then tenants will usually make it worse due to the "LAZY" people who run zoning, as a tenant up against a grisi ball of a land lord representitive, I must first point out,the actual owner at times may be unaware of some details. Certain former Cocain users are attempting to decieve the public as well as owners! As I recall and I stand to be corrected, WE DO NOT WANT YOUR DOPE HERE, yet one who has been arrested for it is back on the streets and has control of alot of properties and somehow certain south park admirers at the zoning office seem to ignore the problems . Now when the law says it is OK for the tenant to suffer further degredation because of A name or any other EXCUSE they want ,somone usually gets the boot ! then you find ME! I have been generously paying larger than normal rents in OSWEGO for 20 years now and it would seem as the conspirisy is at city hall itself . When I wanted to use what is called partical board for a wall in my family home to repair some holes ,I was told it would not pass code to rent just 1 room to just one person ! so when that was rectified I and my bro were told we could not rent 1 room to any 1 person not of our bloodline as they were not considered to be family ! Since then it has gotten out of control and the only tenants I ever see having little to no problems are colledge students because the land lords just want the cash and do not care if they destroy the homes and hoods ! Now if the people of Oswego would just look they would see that it is the landlord or representitive who chooses the tenant NOT THE TENANT WHO CHOOSES THE LORD OF THE MANORE! so come off the false sense of RIGHTUOSNESS and put the GRIS BALL BACK IN JAIL WHERE COKE HEADS BELONG AND STOP THROWING BOMBS AT THE TENANTS! FOOLS!
