From the Pall-Times The Oswego City Fire Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning. A call received at 1:57 a.m. reported a motorcycle had struck a utility pole, with injuries.
The accident was on West Bridge Street, in the vicinity of West Eighth Street.
Two fire department paramedic ambulances responded to the scene, along with Engine #2 and the rescue truck. Upon arrival, they found two adult males with serious injuries.
Both patients were stabilized at the scene, and then transported to the trauma center at University Hospital in Syracuse. The motorcycle passenger was airlifted by helicopter from the Kmart Plaza in Fulton, while the driver was transported directly to the hospital by ambulance.
Oswego City police also responded to the incident. As of press time, the names of the injured were not released.
After talking with friends yesterday, the "apparent" details I was told was that one of the persons was an off duty policeman who was driving the motorcycle at a high rate of speed without a helmet.
