involving a NYS Trooper in a Tahoe. Maybe they should rethink the idea of using these vehicles.
The rollover rate on these and others like them are high. (Something that should have been considered before they were purchased?)
Well, the good thing is that his family did not lose him.

Police all over the US are taking the large SUVs off of the road because they are more apt to become a danger to both the officers and citizens during high speed use. New data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that people in SUVs were nearly 11 percent more likely to die in an accident than people in cars in 2003.
The federal division says SUVs have a higher likelihood of rolling over because of their higher center of gravity. Its Web site states: "Many rollovers occur when drivers overcorrect their steering as a panic reaction to an emergency or to a wheel going off the pavement's edge. At highway speeds, overcorrecting or excessive steering can cause the driver to lose control, which can force the vehicle to slide sideways and roll over."
What purpose does the State Police have to support the use of SUVs for traffic control? Maybe the family of Trooper Craig Todeschini should of looked closer at what caused Craigs death than push for more laws to cover up a bad decision that HE made. The State Police do not need SUVs.
