At about 8:15 this evening Darrel Aubertine issued the following statement about his belief he was offered the NYPA Chairmanship. "If there was a misunderstanding, then there was a misunderstanding." Gov. David Paterson just flat-out denied that either he or his office ever offered the post of NYPA chief to freshman Democratic Sen. Darrel Aubertine, saying the upstate lawmaker must have "misunderstood" conservsations he may or may not have had with administration staffers "That's a very good question," Paterson said when asked about the reports of Aubertine and his supposed non-job offer. "I didn't offer Sen. Aubertine a job running the Power Authority, and I don't believe anyone in my office did. Why he, that's his interpretation, I just don't understand. Oh my, Two Democrats confussed?

Well, give them both credit. They both must be very tired from all the hard work they've done since January. Now they get to come home for the rest of the year and continue to collect a paycheck.
But the what I read in the paper about this post did make me laugh.
Politicians...gotta love'em.
